“7th Heaven” Reruns With Stephen Collins Quietly Return to TV, But Not for Long

Although "7th Heaven" reruns have returned to television, don't expect them to stick around.

After UP TV decided to pull all episodes of the classic TV show from its schedule in October in the wake of the Stephen Collins scandal, some fans may have noticed the series back on TV.

According to the network, those in charge ultimately decided to resume airing past episodes on Nov. 10 after front page headlines involving Collins slowly but surely disappeared.

As it turns out, viewers noticed and were not too happy.

"We have received a mixed to negative response regarding the show on Facebook and in viewer emails," the network said in a statement to E! News. "Clearly, a show that has been a fan favorite series for us has been severely impacted."

And now it appears reruns are going to stop once again.

"We brought the show back because many viewers expressed they could separate allegations against one actor from the fictional series itself, as it turns out they cannot," the statement continued. "We will be taking the show back off the air."

The future of "7th Heaven" reruns has been uncertain ever since Collins, known to fans as Reverend Eric Camden on the WB's religious family drama, started being investigated by police after allegedly confessing to molesting young girls.

At the time, UP TV President and CEO Charley Humbard wasn't sure if the decision to pull all episodes would be forever.

"Too early to say," he exclusively told E! News. "We are getting a lot of fan mail. It was a very popular show, but the longer this goes, the trend [from fans] has really trended towards, 'We understand this is a mess, but are you going to bringing our show back?"

"7th Heaven" aired for 11 seasons between 1996 and 2007. The show also features beloved cast members Catherine Hicks, Beverly Mitchell and of course, Happy the dog.
