Tom Cruise & Oprah Not Attending Jett Travolta's Memorial

Tom Cruise and Oprah will not be able to attend Jett Travolta’s memorial service Thursday, Access Hollywood has learned.

Despite reports that the good friends of John Travolta and Kelly Preston would be attending their son’s service in Ocala, Florida, both Tom and Oprah have scheduling conflicts.

Tom will be in New York City taping an appearance on ABC’s “The View,” while Oprah is currently out of the country.

Though Tom and Oprah will be absent, the local Ocala Hilton Hotel has reportedly blocked off 17 rooms for the family’s guests attending the service of the late 16-year-old.

Ocala mayor Randy Ewers told Access his city is preparing for the funeral.

“Some of our city staff is working with [the family’s] staff to help make sure everything goes off, or the event goes well,” Ewers said.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, while the results from Jett’s autopsy have not been released, the assistant director at the Bahamas funeral home, which handled Jett’s remains, told The Associated Press the teen’s death certificate listed “seizure” as the cause of death. Jett, who was 16, passed away last Friday morning.
