Tidbits: Rihanna's Mentor Fears Oprah Isn't Helping

While Oprah Winfrey, Tyra Banks, and other talk-show hosts have discussed what Rihanna should do after the assault she allegedly suffered at the hands of boyfriend Chris Brown, Rihanna’s mentor, producer Evan Rogers, believes all the televised attention could make matters worse.

“I think that everyone has good intentions and means well, but it turns up the heat in terms of it seeming like the whole world is telling her what to do,” Rogers told Entertainment Weekly. “At the end of the day, people forget that, at 21, your perspective is very different. These kinds of things can happen to anyone, whether you're a celebrity or not.”

Still, the man who discovered the Barbadian singer knows she listens to all the unsolicited advice, even if she chooses not to take it.

“I think she's very aware of everything that's going on,” he explained. “Just like anyone else, she watches TV, she goes online. And I think that it matters to her, but there's a line that she walks between being human and caring when you hear these kinds of things, and separating your personal life from your professional life. She's doing the best she can and this is a very difficult time that she's going through right now and she's going to learn a lot from it.”

Despite Rogers' concerns, recent reports indicate Rihanna may be warming to the popular “leave Brown behind” sentiments. She and Brown are now said to be taking a break from their relationship.

There’s still hope for Jen and John
They may be “off-again,” but according to OK! magazine, there’s still hope for a romantic reunion between Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer.

An insider revealed the couple parted ways due to the actress’ supposed dreams of parenthood; a goal Mayer doesn’t share. Other than that big difference, they split on good terms.

“They left the door open to give it another go," Mayer's friend explained.

That’s not to say Mayer’s changed his position on daddy duty.

“John's number one priority is his music,” said another source. “Which is all-consuming for him.”

Jesus’ ex calls Madonna a ‘ridiculous old bag’
While Madonna’s ex-husband, director Guy Ritchie, isn’t bothered by his former flame’s romance with 22-year-old model Jesus Luz, the same can’t be said for Luz’s ex-girlfriend, Catharina Franca.

"When I heard about him and Madonna I couldn't believe it,” Franca told the Daily Mail. “I think the age makes a difference and it is ridiculous for her. It's like my mom with a boyfriend my age, or even my grandmother. I think it's very weird.”

Franca, who broke up with Luz in 2006, believes Madonna’s fascination with the Brazilian model is simply a case of a 50-year-old woman who hasn’t come to terms with aging.

"(Madonna) is a ridiculous old bag, jumping around on stage at her age,” she said. “I think she has some kind of an age complex, she still thinks she is a young woman, she can't accept her age.”

Dish on the fly
Reclusive pop megastar Michael Jackson plans to put his best face forward for his sold out 50-date concert series, and according to the Sun, that means going back under the knife. “Michael has consulted some of the world’s best cosmetologists and surgeons in preparation for this comeback,” Ian Halperin, author of “Unmasked: The Michael Jackson Story,” told the paper. … Tori Spelling’s new book, “Mommywood,” hits bookshelves next month, but the actress’ own mommy, frequent-feuder Candy Spelling, won’t even read it. “I never read her first one (“sTori Telling”) because my friends and family advised me against it,” the elder Spelling told Usmagazine.com. “They said it would hurt my feelings, so I decided to pass. I won't read her new one either.” No word yet on whether Tori Spelling plans to crack open her mother’s upcoming tome, “Stories from Candyland.” … Making room for movies and motherhood is tricky business for Julia Roberts. In an interview with Moviefone, the “Duplicity” star pointed out that the balancing act gives critics a chance to target her on both fronts. “I think somebody said that I made 13 movies in the past 6 years,” Roberts explained. After a reporter reminded her that the total included her voiceover work, she shot back, “Well work is work. If I leave my house to go to work, it's work. Listen, if somebody wanted to, (they could) say I'm not being attentive to my children and, 'Look, she's made all these movies in the past six years.' So you can make whatever case you want.”
