The Open Road To ‘Weakest Link's' Anne Robinson: ‘Goodbye!'

Anne Robinson, the sharp-tongued presenter of game show “The Weakest Link,” has been banned from driving in her native UK for six months, according to reports out of Britain.

Robinson, the short haired red-head, known for cutting contestants down to size with sharp barbs, was cut down from driving by a British judge after committing her fourth speeding offense.

The Brit, 63, admitted the offense via mail to Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court in the South of England.

What was she busted for? Driving 43 MPH in a 30 MPH zone in August of last year.

She was caught by a speed camera.

Robinson’s lawyer, Michael McGoldrick, said the game show host made the speeding mistake after becoming disoriented during her first visit to the city.

“While trying to leave Portsmouth, she failed to spot that she was in a restricted speed area,” McGoldrick said, the British Press Association reported. “The camera is one that quite often catches people out.”

McGoldrick said Robinson sent her apologies to the court.

“My client accepts that she will be disqualified and she wanted me to apologies for what happened and apologize for taking up the court’s time,” he said.

According to the UK’s Press Association, Robinson had three past speeding offences – in September 2005, March 2006 and June 2007.
