Slain “Waitress” Actress' Husband Sues City Over Her Death

Husband claims she was killed because of the Manhattan building's lax supervision

The husband of a slain actress has sued the manager of the New York City building where she died and the renovation company that hired the man who killed her.

Andrew B. Ostroy's lawsuit says Adrienne Shelly was killed because of the Manhattan building's lax supervision and the contractor's careless hiring of an illegal immigrant.

A 20-year-old Ecuadorean named Diego Pillco pleaded guilty in February to manslaughter in Shelly's death. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

The lawsuit says Pillco worked for Bradford General Contractors. The company hasn't returned a call seeking comment.

There's no listing for sued building management agent Six Square LLC.

Shelly appeared in the 2005 movie "Factotum" with Matt Dillon. She wrote, directed and co-starred in 2007's "Waitress."
