Scoop: Kate Gosselin's dressed up, with no date

Kate Gosselin is officially single and is hitting the town.

The mom of eight hit popular NYC nightspot Butter on Feb. 5 for wine and dinner, and according to Us Weekly, "mouthed, 'He's so hot!' when a cute 20-something man walked past her table."

No mom jeans for Gosselin: She wore a miniskirt and strappy sandals despite it being the dead of winter. And Us reports that Gosselin’s much talked about $7,000 hair extensions are a few inches shorter now.

"She's at a point in her life where she's doing a little experimenting," hair guru Ted Gibson, one of Gosselin's wingmen for the night, told the magazine. Gibson said that even though Gosselin's dressed to impress, she isn't ready for a new man in her life.

"I don't think (she's ready to date). She's adjusting to who she is," Gibson said.

Lady Gaga’s mystery man
Although Lady Gaga is adventurous onstage, she reportedly has a substantial soft side. The singer was spotted in Los Angeles recently with her new boyfriend, Matthew Williams, according to In Touch Weekly.

"Matthew and Gaga have been dating for months," an insider told the magazine. "They were together on and off for more than a year, but called it off when mixing work and love became too difficult."

That's where the story gets complicated.

According to ITW, Williams (nicknamed "Dada" by the singer) then had a child with another woman and Gaga began dating an entrepreneur named Speedy.

But "(Gaga and Williams) spend all their time together, and travel everywhere, so it was bound to happen. Speedy dumped her, and Matthew left his girlfriend for Gaga," the insider said.

Murphy's widower's raises eyebrows
The behavior of Simon Monjack, Brittany Murphy's husband, is raising eyebrows at some of the celeb weeklies.

Life & Style reports that Monjack appears to be trying to sell photographs that depict himself and Murphy's mother, Sharon Murphy, consoling each other over the loss of Brittany.

One set of photos, being sold on Simon's behalf through a third party, had an asking price of more than $40,000. In addition to the pictures, the price would include a brief question-and-answer session with Monjack.

There's also some question about a canceled charity event to benefit the Brittany Murphy Foundation, which was to take place Feb. 4 at the Saban Theatre in Los Angeles.

An insider involved in the planning of the event told Life & Style that only days before the event, there were questions about the event's steep ticket prices and lack of planning.

"Nothing had been prepared, no food, no wine, no decor, nothing. Usually those kinds of things are in place well before the day of the event. We were told it was canceled with only two days' notice," the planner told Life & Style.
