Samuel L. Jackson will have pirates saying "argh."

He's already taken on snakes on a plane, now Samuel L. Jackson will face pirates on a boat.

Jackson has signed on to a new film about a journalist who is a negotiator between pirates and the owners of vessels hijacked off the coast of Africa, according to Variety.

It's based on a true story and Jackson intends to play Andrew Mwangura, a journalist and ex-marine engineer who runs the Seafarers' Assistance Programme, a nonprofit group that offers humanitarian aid to all sailors.

Andras Hamori and Jackson will produce the film together. They have previously worked together when they produced "Formula 51." Jackson is currently filming "Iron Man 2."

Talk about a story ripped from the headlines.
