Renee Zellweger On Single Girl Stereotypes & What She Looks For In A Man

Renee Zellweger has no interest in talking about her love life publicly.

The actress, who graces the June cover of Glamour magazine, which is celebrating the "50 Most Glamorous" people, said she won't talk about who she is — or isn't — dating.

"No, I won't. Because it's dumb. It leads to nowhere good," the Southern beauty told the mag. "I let everybody else in the media do that for me. It takes the responsibility off my shoulders!"

The actress, who played the most famous singleton in the world – Bridget Jones – in two films bearing the British character's name, said she is puzzled about why the media likes to suggest single, successful women are unhappy.

"I don't know. Because it's a deviation from social expectations? She's successful in all these respects, so why doesn't a man find her attractive?" Renee said, milling on the topic. "When you think about it, [when you're single] you are not deprived in any way – if anything it's a pretty self-indulgent lifestyle. It's selfish: you can make your own decisions and indulge yourself on an impulse."

And Renee has no plans to become part of a couple any time soon. She admits, however, she would change course if she met the right man.

"Oh sure. But if I'm going to give it up, it better be good – because I'm having fun," she said.

The actress, who has dated rocker Jack White and briefly married country singer Kenny Chesney, said she looks for brains in a partner above all else, but wouldn't commit to a "type."

"I'm attracted to intelligence and creativity and passion – and not necessarily the romantic kind," she said. "I want to learn from someone who is greedy for information and light and laughter and the whole world. Someone who celebrates their days and finds inspiration in what other people accomplish."

But while she enjoys the company of a thoughtful man, Renee said she definitely appreciates alone time, particularly the kind that finds her on the road in her running shoes.

"It's my outlet, the one thing I do during the day that's mine and mine alone," Renee said of jogging. "I don't want to work with a trainer and I don't want to go with friends to the gym. It's my solitude and I need it."

And pounding the pavement, acting and her pursuit of knowledge leaves little time for Internet activities like Twitter.

"I can't think of anything more horrible than sharing what I'm doing all day," Renee said when asked if she would ever post on the popular Web site.
