Redmond O'Neal Gets New Hearing On Drug Charge

Redmond O'Neal will be back in court on July 9 for a preliminary hearing on charges of drug possession, a judge ruled on Friday.

The 24-year-old son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal appeared in court on Friday in a royal blue jumpsuit and clean-shaven. Redmond appeared to be in good spirits, as he was laughing when photographers began taking his picture inside the courtroom.

As reported on AccessHollywood.com earlier this week, Redmond has been moved from the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in LA to the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, Calif.

He will now begin his lockdown drug treatment for a January 2008 drug arrest and a probation violation in September 2008 – separate charges from the one responsible for his appearance in court on Friday. He had previously been released on probation and ordered to attend a drug diversion program for the two previous charges.

His Friday appearance was over charges stemming from his arrest on April 5 on suspicion of taking heroin into an LA-area jail facility, which he plead not guilty for on April 29.
