President Obama Jokes About Getting Bumped By Jessica Simpson

Two weeks ago there was no one more popular than President Barack Obama, but a pair of high-waisted jeans and a tight black tank top launched Jessica Simpson to the forefront of the public’s attention – even bumping the President off the cover of a popular celebrity magazine.

Us Weekly had planned on running a photo of the Obama family on the cover of their current issue, but replaced the First Family with a story about Jessica Simpson’s Weight-Gate – a bump that President Obama was able to find humor in.

“Yeah, it’s a little hurtful,” he joked with NBC’s Matt Lauer during an interview which aired Sunday night before the Super Bowl on NBC.

“You got replaced by Jessica Simpson!” Matt told the President.

“Who’s in a weight battle, apparently,” Obama quipped, reading the magazine’s cover. “Oh well!”
