PETA Takes Aim At Suri Cruise's Fur Fashion

PETA has never had a problem challenging celebrities who wear fur — no matter how big the superstar. But now, the animal rights organization is taking aim at perhaps the littlest offender yet – Suri Cruise.

Access Hollywood has obtained a letter sent from PETA Vice President Dan Mathews to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, which warns the celebrity parents against dressing their toddler in fur fashion from a famous designer.

“Greetings from PETA, where we’ve always admired your fur-free personal style,” the letter began. “Because you are among the most highly visible wearers of Giorgio Armani, we are obliged to alert you to a distressing situation that has arisen with the company.”

The letter goes on to claim that the couple should be leery of outfits Armani sends for 2-year-old Suri, because the popular designer allegedly uses “bunny fur.”

“Please be vigilant about any packages that Armani sends for Suri, as they could include bunny fur from his toddler lines,” PETA claimed. “We imagine that Suri, like other children, has a natural affinity for animals, which is why we find it shocking that Armani is not only breaking his fur-free promise but also trying to lure children into fashion derived from skinned rabbits.”

A little more than a year ago, Armani gave an interview to Time magazine, where the legendary designer admitted his meetings with PETA had “convinced me not to use fur.”

“Unfortunately, he’s gone back on his word,” the letter stated.

In making their plea to Tom and Katie, PETA also asked the couple to use their star power to sway Armani’s decision to use fur.
