“Millionaire Matchmaker” Patti Stanger: New York Women Should “Loosen Up”

Bravo's Patti Stanger dishes about New York City singles

New York City women are “wound tight” and the guys should stop the snobbery already, according to Bravo's “Millionaire Matchmaker” Patti Stanger.

Stanger has a ready wish list of behavioral changes she’d like to see from single New Yorkers after filming season four in the Big Apple.

“The girls are jaded and I think they have a bitter complex, which means they have to get out of their zip codes and date in the suburbs,” Stanger told NBCUDirect.

Stanger’s dating tips for women include loosening up with a cocktail “or two,” she said.

As for New York men, Stanger said they’re lucky the local male-female ratio is heavily in the guys’ favor. But she said men are often too critical of their date’s background and social status.

“Like where did you go to school? Who’s your family? Do you go to the Hamptons?” Stanger said. “They’re very snobby and elitist I would say.”

Stanger advised single men not to make their mind up about a person in the first six seconds of checking them out. "I don’t think in this time and age, other than wanting to have sex with you, could they know that that’s a good wife, a good girlfriend,” she said.

Stanger said women often sleep with guys too soon.

“And we TMI, we tell them too much information about us thinking they’re our best friend,” she told NBCUDirect. “They’re not our friend, they’re our mate.”
