Meet The Other Brad Pitt: 2008 Beijing Olympics Boxer

Brad Pitt may have played a bruiser in “Fight Club,” but another Brad Pitt doesn’t just play a boxer, he is one. And he’s competing for Australia in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Though the former painter, who quit working on walls to train for the games, has a rather famous moniker, he has never thought about changing it to prevent confusion.

“I’ve always been Brad,” the Australian Olympic boxing team member told Sydney’s The Daily Telegraph. “Let him change his name.”

The boxing Pitt, 25, may not have George Clooney on speed-dial or the world’s most famous babies with Angelina Jolie, but he’s a real-life heavyweight, competing in the category at the Beijing Olympics, a dream he has long held.

“I never wanted to go professional for the money, I just wanted to get to the Olympics,” he told the newspaper. “For the past three years I’ve pretty much been doing this full time without working.”

And amateur boxer Pitt, who looks more like Clive Owen than the “Fight Club” star, has spent the last 10 years training with one goal in mind: Olympic gold.

“This is probably my shot at a medal and afterwards I’ll go home to Sorrento, maybe open a gym,” he added.

Though he admits there has been confusion over his name, Pitt said it doesn’t disturb him.
