Friend: A-Rod ‘Exploring Spiritual Side' With Kabbalah

It’s more than “Like a Prayer” for Alex Rodriguez.

The baseball player isn’t just flirting with Kabbalah, the mystical branch of Judaism.

“He’s into it. He’s exploring his spiritual side,” a source close to Rodriguez tells AccessHollywood.

On Monday, Rodriguez had lunch at New York’s Serafina restaurant with the Kabbalah Centre’s Rabbi Michael Berg, who is a spiritual advisor.

And Dodd Romero, Rodriguez’s former trainer and the godfather to his two daughters, recently told the New York Post that the ballplayer is “totally brainwashed” by Madonna, who has befriended the Major Leaguer over the past few months.

Another bombshell that Access Hollywood has learned exclusively from the Rodriquez pal is that he was set to file for divorce, but his wife, Cynthia, beat him to the punch yesterday.

According to the Rodriguez insider, this divorce will “come down to a negotiation” for the multimillionaire, whose estranged wife reportedly went on a nearly $100,000 seemingly vengeful shopping spree to and in Paris.

For the time being, though, says his friend, Rodriguez is upset that Cynthia has prevented him from seeing his daughters, first flying off to Paris and then to Miami.

Rodriguez has recently retained divorce attorney Ira Elegant, who has represented Shaquille O’Neal.
