Emmy Winners Head To The Garage

The first two winners at Sunday night’s Emmy awards were shocked to find an entire table of the glittery statuettes awaiting them — in the basement of a parking garage.

“I only need one,” said Jean Smart, who won for supporting actress in comedy for her role on “Samantha Who?”

Then she pretended to have second thoughts.

“Actually, I need a pair as earrings,” she said, holding her trophy up to her ear.

The Emmy each winner carries off stage is just a prop. Winners give it back and head to the parking garage adjacent to the Nokia Theatre to collect the real one.

“It looks like Hanukkah!” said Jeremy Piven as he arrived at the table.
