Despite a report to the contrary, the Los Angeles District Attorney's office has not ruled out pressing charges against Chris Brown for his alleged violent incident with Rihanna, Access Hollywood has learned.
On Wednesday, it was reported the DA's office said they did not have sufficient evidence to press charges against Brown.

However, a spokesperson for the District Attorney's office told Access on Thursday that the report is "absolutely incorrect."
"The case is still under investigation," the spokesperson said. "Absolutely nothing has changed. The LAPD still has an ongoing investigation and the case hasn't been handed to the DA's office yet."

However, another source with knowledge of the investigation did note police and prosecutors could be running into an issue of getting Rihanna to cooperate with the investigation, as she is the only witness in the case.

Although Brown has a scheduled court appearance on March 5, Rihanna will not be required to appear.
