Chris Tucker Hangs With Shaun In Beijing

“Let’s go to the Great Wall and let’s go to the Forbidden City, and let’s do stuff that’s forbidden,” comedian Chris Tucker suggested to Access Hollywood’s own Shaun Robinson as they went for a stroll in the Houhai district of Beijing.

Chris Tucker may be getting just a little TOO into the China spirit, but it was hard not to as the “Rush Hour” star made a bunch of new friends in a short amount of time.

“Ni hou… Ni hou ma,” locals said to him.

Even our driver was excited to get the star’s John Hancock.

“It’s great, somebody says your name in another country, like, ‘Chris Tuck-ah… you Chris Tuck-ah,’ – Yeah, that’s me!”

Then, it was time for a little shopping.

“Have you bought any souvenirs at all,” Shaun asked.

“I gotta buy my momma something, I might buy her a fan,” Chris said. “She could take this to church,” he replied, picking up a traditional Chinese fan.

Next, the two looked at horsehair brushes, but Chris needed to brush up on some of his facts.

“The emperor used this to get all that stuff off of him,” he insisted. “The emperor — back in the day, people used to do it for the Emperor.”

“Uh, actually it’s a calligraphy brush,” the booth salesman said, with the help of their translator, Haitao.

But Chris did indeed know a thing or two about the Forbidden City.

“Why do they call it the Forbidden City,” Shaun asked Chris. “What is so Forbidden?”

“Because people back in the centuries, they were forbidden from coming inside,” he answered correctly.

“The emperor would be like, ‘You better not come up in here.’ I like how they was rollin’ back then.”
