Burt Reynolds Recovering After Heart Surgery

Actor is recovering at home in Florida

Burt Reynolds underwent a quintuple bypass surgery last week, a source close to the star confirmed to Access Hollywood.

The actor is recovering at home in Florida with round-the-clock nursing care, according to the source.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Burt has had other medical difficulties in recent months, checking himself into rehab in 2009 following a back surgery.

"After a recent back surgery, Mr. Reynolds felt like he was going through hell and after a while, realized he was a prisoner of prescription pain pills," Burt's manager told Access in a statement at the time. "He checked himself into rehab in order to regain control of his life."

Burt, 74, has recently appeared in such films as "The Dukes of Hazzard," the remake of "The Longest Yard" and as a guest star on TV's "My Name Is Earl."
