Bret Michaels Still Hospitalized After Emergency Surgery

Poison singer underwent emergency appendectomy

Former Poison frontman and “Celebrity Apprentice” star Bret Michaels will remain hospitalized for a second night after having undergone an emergency appendectomy, People reported.

A rep for the 47-year-old rock star said late Tuesday that Michaels had run a fever overnight and may have an infection.

Michaels had been scheduled to perform in San Antonio as part of his Roses and Thorns tour on Sunday but was rushed to the hospital with flu-like symptoms. He had hoped ride out his stomach pains but later found out his appendix was about to burst, according to People.

“Michaels, who has been known to perform under extreme conditions that would make most performers cancel, will unfortunately have no choice but to reschedule some of his April tour dates,” his rep told People on Monday.

The “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” singer suffers from diabetes and has been hospitalized a number of times in the past, People reported.
