Access Exclusive: Ashley Dupre: ‘Time For Me To Start A New Chapter'

In an exclusive sit-down interview with Access Hollywood‘s Maria Menounos at Lucky Strike Lounge and Lanes in NYC, Ashley Dupre talks about the scandal that changed her life and how she doesn’t regret the choices she has made.

“I’m happy that I’m able to put this behind me now and move on. This is closing this chapter and time for me to start a new chapter,” Ashley tells Maria in the new interview, airing on Monday.

Ashley became the center of a media storm when then-New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, who was a client of Ashley’s, was being investigated for his involvement in a prostitution ring.

Spitzer announced his resignation from the governorship on March 12, 2008, two days after the New York Times broke the news of his connections to the ring.

Ashley, who has spoken with law enforcement but has not had any charges filed against her, reveals to Maria how she got started in the escort business.

“I just found dating in New York was really difficult,” Ashley says. “I didn’t see the big difference, back then, from dating as a trade-off, where as escort, the only difference is a formal transaction.”

When Maria asks if she had regular customers, Ashley says, “I can say that sometimes I did. Some enjoyed my company more than others.”

And looking back, how does she feel now about her experience?

“I can’t even say I regret it or this is awful because it really was something for me where it kind of makes you step back for a little bit,” Ashley continues. “I think that I will be a better person after this.”
