A packed house, with Tavi and Simon Doonan in the front row, took in the serene Spring 2010 collection from Zero + Maria Cornejo.
With minimal bells and whistles in the hair and makeup department, the collection let the clothes do the talking. Crisply pleated white preceded a free-flowing oceanic print that in one particular case, moved in such a way that it evoked actual waves. A few smart, demure bathing suits in chalky dark blue will surely guarantee the wearer best dressed at the beach as well.
The wispy draping was somewhat tempered by another black and white print that looked like symmetrically smeared mascara runnng down in beautifully harmonious lines, and the "basics" comprising the line were anything but.
