Update: Elle Not Going to Hearst

A spokesperson for Hachette Fillipacchi Media has officially squashed yesterday's rumors of a negotiation for Elle between Hachette and Hearst Publications.

"There are no ongoing talks on a joint venture or licensing agreement with Hearst Corp. Group regarding Elle magazine in the U.S.,” said Lagadère Active, the parent company of Hachette Fillipacchi Media.

The denouncement comes on the heels of yesterday's New York Post article about a potential handover of the prominent fashion magazine to Hearst Publications here in New York City. Considering Elle's strong position in the ad pages race, it stands to reason that the glossy would be the subject of much desire, but Hachette has no intentions of letting this one out of its sights.
