Tomorrow: Derek Lam and Olivia Palermo Host “Fashion for Action”

Derek Lam, Olivia Palermo, Gilt Groupe, and Housing Works are teaming up for a massive benefit tomorrow night which promises celebrities, makeovers, and sample sale finds -- all to kick off a four-day fashion spectacular for charity.

The opening night benefit for Fashion for Action will give partygoers a sneak peek at the sample sale goods going on sale the next day -- featuring donated merchandise from over 150 top designers -- as well as a killer silent auction that includes tickets to the Oscar de la Renta and Rebecca Taylor fashion shows in February, as well as a three-night say in New Orleans for the Essence Music Festival. Anyone can attend -- tickets are $100 (remember, it's all going to raise money for Housing Works, which provides housing, food, and more to homeless and low-income people living with AIDS).

Then Friday the epic sample sale at the Housing Works in Chelsea opens to the public, with over $1 million worth of goods from labels like Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Lanvin, Yves Saint Laurent, and Dolce & Gabbana for 50-70 percent off. The sale runs through Sunday, but needless to say, the best goods will be gone before the weekend really hits, so make an effort to get there early.
