In fashion, women are always borrowing from the boys. But the latest Saint Laurent menswear campaign—which stars Dutch model (and Karl Lagerfeld favorite), Saskia de Brauw—proves the reverse works, too.
Gender-bending is particularly a la mode this season: The androgynous new YSL ads drop on the heels of Ford's unveiling of Casey Legler, a 6'2 female artist who was signed to the agency as a male model.
De Brauw—who, at 31, is already older than the average It girl—appears in the ads sporting a foppish Beatles 'do.
According to The Telegraph, the campaign isn't the model's first forray into fashion androgyny: This fall, she walked Givenchy's spring '13 mens show sporting a similar cropped cut.
