Whitney Port to Show Her Collection at New York Fashion Week

While many celebrities and reality stars have tried their hands at designing, Whitney Port always seemed to be one of the ones who seemed to be going about it the right way. Now, it looks like she's bringing her collection to the big show -- New York Fashion Week -- and staging her first-ever fashion show at the tents.

Port founded her fashion line, Whitney Eve, after starring in MTV's The Hills, where she was filmed working at Teen Vogue. By 2008, she's scored her own spin-off, "The City," where she worked at reputable fashion companies like Diane von Furstenberg and The People's Revolution. It was in 2008 that she also founded her label, and since then, she's seemed quite earnest in working on it.

Her runway show will be staged at the Lincoln Center tents on February 15th at 9 a.m. In a statement, Port said, "My collection has grown so much over the past few years, and the next step for me as a designer was to put on my own runway show."

Showing at Lincoln Center is certainly a testament to the financial backing behind the brand: Showing as part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is often much more expensive than one would imagine.
