One to Watch: Rebecca Torres

Buzz has been building around Glasgow-based ingenue Rebecca Torres, who, at just 23-years-old, was recently named one of the "Creative 30," a list of 30 exceptional new talents in UK design. She was also showcased in The Herald as one of five designers worth "discovering." To to put it simply, this young lady is definitely going places.

Her designs, which are generally "Spanx-required" concotions of elastic and other body-hugging stretch material, have been praised for their bold color-blocking and easy wearbility. For Fall, Torres created even crazier colorful shift dresses in a variety of lengths, some featuring sheer silk panels and dramatically draped sleeves.

We're big fans of Torres' ankle-length dresses in bright pink and black, which feature little mesh patches on the back of the sleeves (playing with the "peek-a-boo" trend we're sure to see more of next spring). The lookbook showed off the dresses styled with sky-high heels, but we think they'd work just as well with wedges or even little flat boots, so long as you threw a big fuzzy grandpa cardigan or trim black blazer into the mix.
