We're Loving: Mixology NYC

The concept for local jewlery label Mixology NYC started with an exploration of the city's inherent contradictions: designer Alison Hessert, an Upper East Side native, relocated downtown where she has remained for the past decade. Drawing on these two distinct experiences of New York City, Hessert sought to unite "the old school sophistication of Park Avenue to the more rebellious soul of the Lower East Side" with her aptly-named jewelry line, Mixology NYC.

Wth six distinct collections, each meant to evoke specific moods or personalities, Hessert has developed her brand into a one-stop shop for all that glitters. Customers can explore a wide selection of 40's-inspired "cocktail" cuffs, dangly statement necklaces and quirky cocktail rings in the online boutique. But it was the stackable mixed-metal "Cassandra" bangles that really caught our eye. Available in thick or thin versions of oxidized brass, rose gold, gunmetal and oxidized silver, each is reasonably priced at just $20, and creates tons of terrific mixing-and-matching opportunities.
