We're Loving: Sunglasses Line Illesteva

Downtown types might remember DJ Jus Ske as the hoodie-wearing hipster lurking in the back of bars like Lit and Butter, but it seems he's swapped his turn tables--at least temporarily--for a "shady" new venture. We're referring, of course, to his super-chic sunglasses.

"Illesteva," pronounced illest eva, is the brainchild of Ske and streetwear entrepreneur Daniel Silberman. Founded just last year, the brand is devoted to making utterly unique shades from the finest materials available (including bamboo and natural buffalo horn--which really is pretty ill, we think), and has already earned fans in the likes of rapper MIA and singer/model Lissy Trullie.

The fall collection--the lookbook for which was shot on such fabulously unlikely New Yorkers as falafel vendors and pregnant women--features 22 distinct styles, all exuding a somewhat retro, 60's sensibility, though the unusual materials (yes, bamboo) give each piece a modern edge. Next season looks equally promising, with the brand's signature "Freida" frames rendered in icy blue acetate and ombre purple.
