Each season Chanel sets the pace for what polish will be painted on stylish fingers the world over. It is a strange phenomenon--that one brand single-handedly determines a beauty trend--but we're helpless to its will. For resort (that tough-to-determine fashion season during which we're all supposedly Versace-clad on a yacht somewhere) it seems we'll be sporting Chanel's latest hue, "Riva." That is, if we can get our hands on it.
Riva, the pale minty-blue follow up to last season's "Jade" and this season's Khaki trinity, made its debut during Chanel's resort show in St. Tropez. Launching on December 1, you can bet your bottom dollar that the color will sell out instantly, yet everyone will seem to have it but you.
We suggest a preemptive trend attack: start scouring the OPI, Revlon and NARS offerings now to see if you can match the pale blue hue before December 1st. Everyone will wonder how you secured a sample so early.
