Vera Wang Expands Bridal Empire to Zales

Vera Wang is expanding her mass-market bridal empire with Vera Wang Love, a collection of diamond engagement rings and wedding bands that hits 500 Zales stores in October, confirming earlier rumors.

The new partnership apparently corresponds to Wang's wider-reaching David's Bridal collection as the designer expands her accessibility in the bridal market, and the collection includes a whopping 50 styles of solitaire and three-diamond engagement rings, each with a signature sapphire stone, as well as wedding bands for both women and men, WWD reports. The engagement rings range from five-eighths to three carats in princess, cushion, round and pear cuts on 14-karat gold.

Wang described Zales as "the perfect match" to her "quality and design philosophy", while the jewelry company cited Wang's resonant and "uniquely American success story" as the motivation behind inking the deal.

The designer has taken her bridal takeover predominantly to the middle of the market, putting her name on elements from the wedding dress and bridesmaids' dresses to the dishes (no wonder she's moving to a larger office). And now, the jewelry's October drop falls just in time for holiday-season proposals -- the first step in what can be an affordable, almost entirely Vera Wang-themed wedding.
