The Manolo Blahnik for J.Crew Collaboration Isn't Happening

Sad times for lovers of shoes in general and Manolos in particular: The much-hyped J.Crew collaboration with Manolo Blahnik isn't happening after all.

J.Crew has confirmed that the collaboration will not be realized for fall, citing "wholesale production constraints."

Through a publicist, the president of Manolo Blahnik stated that the company was "thrilled" to be a part of J.Crew's fall collection, but "although we were looking forward to the potential collaboration between our two brands, we both came to the conclusion that fall wasn’t the right time. We hope to do something together in the future."

While disappointing, the news doesn't come as too much of a surprise, considering the fall-out that followed the collaboration's debut at Fashion Week: Blahnik himself told Vogue UK that he didn't even know about the collaboration. We're hopeful that a future collaboration is in the works, though in the meantime, we may just spend time saving up for some pumps from Manolo Blahnik's main collection instead.
