On an especially grim news front, a woman found partially-clothed with bruises on her neck in an overflowing bathtub at the ritzy Soho House has been identified as Sylvie Cachay, a luxury swimwear designer, according to NBC New York. Cachay was dating Nicholas Brooks, the son of composer Joseph Brooks. In an odd twist, Joseph Brooks is currently facing charges of molestation.
A housekeeper on duty reported the couple had been arguing loudly. A while later, a second housekeeper noticed water dripping from the ceiling. The police discovered Cachay's body in the jacuzzi around 3 a.m. Brooks was not at the hotel at the time of their arrival, but returned a few hours later.
Cachay was a successful designer, working with the likes of Anne Cole and Victoria's Secret in addition to her own line, Syla. A medical examiner will declare an official cause of death in the next few days.
