Samantha Pleet: Retro-Nouveau for Insouciant Young Things

Fans of Samantha Pleet's youthful, retro-inspired aesthetic won't be disappointed by the young designer's most recent offering. Though Pleet's collection didn't point to one particular era or decade for its inspiration, the lineup was rife with a sense of renewed familiarity. Her playful polka dot two-piece and drawstring maize-hued dress had us thinking of summer lovin' and endless summer days spent at the family lake.

But that's not to say the collection was all rompers and sass. A stunning silk navy number exuded that hard-to-come-by effortless femininity that would make any girl want one in multiple colors (next season's new LBD!), while Pleet's combo of polka dot-trimmed pleated shorts, a button-up silk blouse and a matching polka-dot sweater is exactly the kind of "twinset" her downtown fanbase will undoubtedly gravitate towards.

We especially loved her starry polka dot lace-up sandals and oxfords, a collaborative effort with Osborn Shoes.
