Rumors of a Runway Show & IPO for Tory Burch

Having enjoyed steady success since launching her label in 2004, Tory Burch seems to be particularly busy with the growth of the business lately.

Following a Tweet from Wall Street Journal style correspondent Christina Binkley that said the designer would be stepping up her usual presentations with a full-blown runway show at fashion week next month, WWD reports on speculation the company is on the hunt for a new CFO to broker an IPO.

While Binkley's buzz seems specific enough to be true -- she cites an "impeccable source" and even calls out a Tuesday morning time slot -- a spokesperson for Tory Burch swiftly shot down the vague maybes of corporate changes, telling the daily "we have absolutely no plans to go public."

While that seems settled for the moment, we'll still be watching: Burch opens her first uptown store on Fashion's Night Out September 8, and from there, it may be on to the runway and the stock market.
