Rodarte Celebrates 50th Anniversary of “Breathless” with Limited-Edition Tee

The quixotic Mulleavy sisters, also known as the designers behind Rodarte, have partnered with Rialto Pictures to fete the 50th anniverary of "Breathless" with special t-shirts, a poster, and windows at Barneys.

The tees -- which will be rleeased later this spring at Barneys -- are, of course, inspired by the iconic Jean Godard film starring Jean Seberg and Jean-Paul Belmondo. One is based on the "New York Herald Tribune" t-shirt that Seberg wears in the film, while the other will be a more original riff on the film's New Wave aesthetic. In addition, Rodarte will be partnering with graphic designer Patrick Li on a new poster for the 50th anniversary release on May 28.

All this "Breathless" buzz will come to a head with the windows at Barneys, which will be specially curated by the sisters to capture the mood of the film toward the end of the month when the film hits theaters like the Film Forum downtown.
