Rachel Comey Debuts E-Commerce with Men's Shoes

Rachel Comey may be most beloved for her summery printed dresses and women's lace-ups, but her first e-commerce effort will feature her charming collection of men's footwear.

The new site will offer up 16 of Comey's dapper shoes, which usually range in the $300-$400 area, including lace-up boots and oxford styles. While the site's official launch is April 15, you can already get a glimse of layout of the site, which is really charming -- as you hover over each style, the picture comes to life, giving you an idea of how each pair of shoes looks as it moves with the foot.

As much as shoppers love Comey's men's shoes, the natural next question is whether or not this is any indication of the designer's plans to move forward with e-commerce for her more expanded women's line. As Comey told WWD, "We don't have any plans to add women’s to our site at this point," insisting that her women's wear was already "well represented online" at other stores' sites. What's more, Comey has apparently been careful to edit out of the online selection of men's shoes those styles that have already been picked up by shops like Bergdorf Goodman or Barneys New York. The selection on rachelcomeymens.com is therefore totally unique.
