Today: Pierre Hardy For Gap Boots Finally Arrive

It's been a dicey few weeks for Gap, but today should mark the turning of a corner. After getting pummeled across the interweb for its major logo failure, the brand's much-anticipated Pierre Hardy-designed boot, originally scheduled to hit stores October 19, was delayed until October 28. The delay was shortened, however, and now the boots are arriving in select stores today—how's that for a kick to the Monday blues!

The Pierre Hardy boot, only one of several styles shown in an early preview that actually made it to production, is a black suede and leather trim peep-toe wedge bootie. It's currently available at the chain's flagship location at 680 Fifth Avenue (as well as other select stores around the country), and retailing for $195. Should they sell out—and they will, it's just a matter of when—you'll find a more than suitable alternative in the Gap Lace-up Bootie, a brown platform style (pictured below), which is also dropping in stores today for the same price.
