Oprah to Host Ralph Lauren at Lincoln Center

For one of Oprah Winfrey's last shows, she toured Ralph Lauren's Telluride ranch (down the street from her own) for a rare television interview. Now, the pair will reunite for the Lincoln Center Presents: An Evening with Ralph Lauren charity event on October 24, WWD reports.

Winfrey will host the benefit, whose proceeds will go to Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, as well as the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention.

The reception and on-stage chat between Lauren and Winfrey represents not only an ongoing love-fest between the two icons, but a significant event as part of Lincoln Center's growing commitment to the fashion industry. (Lincoln Center, of course, is the relatively new home of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, and was also recently the site of an epic Fashion's Night Out runway show.) According to the report:

"When Lincoln Center embraced Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, we fully anticipated that fashion and design would, over time, become a more enduring and visible part of the creative spectrum at Lincoln Center, meaning that we would have events throughout the year," said Reynold Levy, president of Lincoln Center. "That is beginning to come to pass in a whole variety of ways which will unfold over time."

Between the potential for fundraising among the Lincoln Center board and Lauren's VIP circle, we'd imagine this is just the beginning of a fleet of other fashion-centric events to be scheduled at Lincoln Center.
