One to Watch: Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair

Founded in 2004, Swedish label Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair is perhaps the most buzz-worthy of brands to emerge from the overwhelming influx of Scandinavian design talent. Created by designers Astrid Olsson and Lee Cotter, the label is defined by its experimental silhouettes mixed with classic menswear-inspired separates.

A tour of their online boutique never fails to amaze us with the range of styles and unusual accessories (think perforated leather baby booties and circular "360" wallets). For those of you already drumming up holiday shopping lists, be sure to take a peek at the hard-to-find giftables and perfectly proportioned small leather goods.

The shoes are a particular treat: sharp color-blocked wedges and pumps festooned with tangled faux flowers are two examples of the brand's fabulous footwear, and the flouncy "pouf" skirts, cool jersey tops and interestingly draped dresses  also earned spots in our fantasy wardrobe. A wool cap-sleeve dress with a distorted argyle pattern and slightly asymmetrical hem offers a fun twist on the season's prepster trend, and typifies the brand's quirky take on saturated styles.

Aside from their online boutique, Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair is available at Opening Ceremony and RevolveClothing.com.
