Just in time for summer, the uptown Bloomingdale's will open a surf shop for Loomstate's Surf Lodge collection. Kick-off is Wednesday night.
Bloomie's and Loomstate are hosting a surf-inspired cocktail party to launch the line and do good for the sport at the same time. They'll be selling custom boards by artist Robb Havassy and donating the proceeds to the Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit that works to protect the world's surfer playgrounds (AKA oceans and beaches). Although charity should certainly be enough, it's a bit of a bonus that Havassy is a former model for Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Armani.
If you want to hang 10 (forgive), the shindig goes down Wednesday night, April 7, 6-8 on the men's metro level at the 59th Street Bloomingdale's.
