Italian Design School Marangoni to Open NYC Office

Italian design school Marangoni is making moves to intensify the competition amongst the city's prestigious fashion alma maters Parsons and FIT, by opening a recruiting office in NYC.

With its notoriously intense fashion program, the school has established itself as an elite institution in its native Italy, as well as in London and Paris where it maintains two satellite campuses, but Marangoni has yet to capture much American interest—until now.  According to the Post, the school's recruiting office has revealed plans for a New York campus.

The school, which touts famous alums such as Domenico Dolce of Dolce & Gabbana, as well as top-ranked designers at fashion houses Gucci and Valentino and insiders at Italian Vogue, is hoping to boost its American attendance from 3-5 percent to the double digits.
