Grand Central Gets in on the Fashion Week Action

It seems like Fashion Week belongs to all of New York City this year—not just Lincoln Center. Between the expected off-site presentations, countless events being held throughout town for Fashion's Night Out, as well as downtown film screenings for fashion documentaries, it's clear that Fashion Week is a citywide affair. Even Grand Central's getting in on the action.

Dubbed "Fashion Central," the storied station's Vanderbilt Hall will be host to a pop-up shopping pavilion from September 8-10. The open area which has been home in the past to various holiday and vendor markets, will welcome brands like Conair, Silhouette Eyewear, Match.com, and Amrita Singh, to show off their newest products, offer makeovers and beauty touch-ups, dispense fashion advice and the like (and oh yes, there will be samples and gift bag prize giveaways).

Though it sounds more like a product showcase than some of the other more fashion designer-driven events going on around town, who doesn't love getting a little makeover while waiting to catch a train?
