Designers on Summer: Kaelen

[THREAD] Designers on Summer: Kaelen

Considering Kaelen Haworth's slouchy jersey sundresses and little belted rompers are all we want to wear this summer, we were extra keen to hear how the New York designer—known for her effortless, laid-back style—likes to kick back during the sticky summer months.

Unsurprisingly, Kaelen opts for fuss-free gear like shredded denim and cotton T-shirts for frequent Montauk excursions.

Summer getaway: "Montauk usually. If I have more than a hot minute I'd go to Muskoka in Canada where my family has a cottage."

Warm weather activity: "Hanging on a patio drinking rosé and scoping babes."

Beat-the-heat solution: "Boating. Logistically it's tough, but if you can get on a boat and get a breeze going, you're golden."

Summer workload: "It starts to ramp up right about now. The summer heat and my summer work load peak around the same time."

Fondest childhood summer memory: "Going to my family's cottage in Long Point. It was action packed — tennis tournaments, fishing with my dad, regattas in which I always won the 'Good Sport' award."

Summer uniform: "Ripped jeans and a tee, or a breezy dress."

Summer treat:
"Beer. I don't drink it that much during other seasons, but beer on a patio just feels right."

Summer anthem: "Aerosmith, 'Crazy.'  It just does so much for me."

Summer style icon: "Lauren Hutton."

Ultimate NYC day vacation: "Governors Island. It's so charming and small enough to really get a handle on in one day. Added bonus—it involves boating [a ferry]!"
