Christopher Kane Wins BFC/Vogue Award Worth $318,000

The obsessed-over Scottish designer nabbed the British Fashion Council's second-ever BFC/Vogue award, which includes a year's worth of access to fashionable mentors in the UK, WWD reports.

Over the past year, Kane has been designing his own line as well as the much raved-about Versus offshoot of Versace. As a result, the young talent beat out other nominees like Jonathan Saunders, Peter Pilotto and Nicholas Kirkwood for the top prize. The BFC/Vogue prize is, in many ways, the UK equivalent of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, which also awards young talents with money to boost their business and mentorship. The winner of last year's first-ever BFC/Vogue prize was Erdem Moralioglu.
