Carolina Herrera is having a moment. A year after becoming an American citizen, fashion's grande dame is readying herself for one busy fashion week next month. In addition to a Fashion's Night Out celebration to fete the simultaneous milestones of her Madison Avenue boutique's tenth anniversary and the opening of a location for her slightly lower-priced line, CH by Carolina Herrera, just down the street, the designer was also recently announced as the recipient of the "Mercedes-Benz Presents" title for Spring 2011's upcoming Fashion Week.
The "Mercedes-Benz Presents" distinction is awarded for a designer for his or her dedication to quality materials, unique style and innovative design for the past seven years—though in Herrera's case, we all know she's been at it much longer.
