Buzz Builds Around Alexander Wang's Rumored Future Store

Since we first reported that the Alexander Wang's first boutique was rumored to be the former home of Yohji Yamamoto in Soho, buzz has started building as construction paper has gone up at the site.

We swung by this afternoon after Racked reported the dormant space had seen some action, but save for new paper lining the windows, it's still just quite empty (and that's no small amount of merch that would need to be moved in to fill up the space). There's a "ring-bell-for-deliveries" sign posted, so there's clearly movement, but thus far, no concrete indication.

The Shophound thinks tying Wang to the Soho space might be a bit of wishful, slow-news-month thinking, and also (justifiably) points out that it's likely probably that a smaller store is actually in the works. The source we spoke to on Soho seemed pretty convinced that 103 Grand Street is the spot, but at this point, we're all waiting for the official word from Wang's people. (Or official signage -- whichever comes first.)
