Bloomies gets Exclusive on French Connection's New Pippa Line

Bloomingdale's will be the exclusive retailer to sell French Connection's new fashion-forward workwear, Pippa later this summer.

For anyone going into the office, Pippa will offer up a tailored line of trousers, jackets, woven tops, skirts and dresses at reasonable price points.  Execs from French Connection and Bloomingdale's both told WWD they'd noticed a hole in the market when it came to chic pieces for the office that didn't cost a fortune, and we'd tend to agree.  When you're shopping for business attire, one's options tend to be limited to J. Crew, Banana Republic and Theory, or perhaps Rebecca Taylor and Nanette Lepore, if your job doesn't pay enough for high fashion stalwarts.

The Pippa collection boasts enticingly accessible price points, including $138-$218 for jackets, pants for $98-$128 and tops for $78-$98, while leather and outerwear prices stay below $350.  WWD describes the line as adhering to a neutral color palette of black, navy and charcoal gray in tweed, silk and jersey with pops of color and subtly feminine detailing throughout.

The line will be available for pre-order online later this month, and is scheduled to drop in Bloomingdale's stores this August.
