Bergdorf Goodman Plans Exclusive Merchandise, Renovations for 111th Birthday

Bergdorf Goodman is one of the city's most illustrious department stores, and this year, it's celebrating its 111th anniversary in business with a slew of exclusive items and special renovations.

According to WWD, the celebration will get underway this September during Fashion's Night Out, where -- in addition to the store's signature celebrity appearances -- Bergdorf's will debut an special retail collection inspired by the anniversary, featuring exclusive items from Alexander McQueen, Oscar de la Renta, Christian Louboutin, Giorgio Armani, Ermenegildo Zegna, Jimmy Choo, and more.

During Fashion Week in September, Bergdorf Goodman fans can also reportedly expect to see a documentary -- "Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's" -- as well as companion book to make its debut, featuring "personal recollections" from luminaries like Manolo Blahnik, the Olsen twins, and Candice Bergen. Naturally, there will also be a star-studded gala later in the fall.

The department store certainly has a lot to celebrate: Its windows are always fabulous, its parties scene-y, and its shoe department best-in-class. What's more, Bergdorf Goodman skipped its 100th birthday celebrations in the wake of the September 11th attacks in 2001, so this celebration will likely more than make up for lost time.
