Armani to Host “Twitter Talks”

This Friday, Giorgio Armani will take to the Twitter-sphere for a series of talks aimed at promoting the house's "One Night Only in Beijing" event—a celebration of Armani's decade-long retail presence in China.

Appropriately, many of the participants in #ArmaniTweetTalks are either major figures in the Beijing fashion industry or of Chinese descent, including Vogue China editor Angelica Cheung, Style Bubble's Susie Lau and street style photographer Tommy Ton.

The focus of the discussion—moderated by Mr. Armani himself—will be "the rapid rise of China as one the most influential fashion markets," WWD reports.

The event is only the latest in what has been a decidedly Twitter-heavy year for the fashion industry; last February, for example, Burberry debuted its fall 2012 collection on Twitter before a single look went down the catwalk.
