“American Woman” at the Met

The Metropolitan Museum of Art will exhibit "American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity" May 5-August 15 with more than 100 years of garments reflective of the ladies of their time.

The collection will consist of a combination of items from the Brooklyn Museum Costume Collection and the Met, depicting how American women have used fashion as expression.  With more than 80 haute couture pieces from between 1890-1940, the show traces the evolution of feminine ideal through fashion trends over the years. We'll happily spend a summer afternoon with a history lesson in gorgeous fashion.
